How Does the VAT Calculator Work?
Use the calculator to add VAT to a net price or remove VAT from a VAT-inclusive total.

Adding VAT
If you know the price before VAT, the calculator calculates the VAT amount and adds it to the original net price.
Example: 1,000 + 5% VAT = 1,050

Removing VAT
For a VAT-inclusive price, VAT is not removed by simply subtracting the percentage. The total is divided by (1 + VAT rate) to recover the net price.
Example: 1,050 including 5% VAT → Net price = 1,000
